What is EFT ?
EFT is a short for emotional freedom technique, form of a meridian energy therapy. In this technique, you are stimulating acupressure points on your body, by tapping on them. It is fast and easy procedure which helps you in dealing with any negative emotion, trauma, stress or anxiety that you may be holding on to. It is aimed at returning your mind, body and feelings back to a state of balance and calmness. Negative emotions disrupt the body’s energy system, so any negative thoughts usually impacts negative body response. Negative events, from your past, besides triggering negative emotions, also impact your set of beliefs, causing you to adopt new beliefs or decisions, useful at that moment to protect you.
EFT helps with many of following issues:
- Compulsive behaviour
How EFT works ?
To understand EFT works, it is helpful to understand the limbic system. who is in charge for memory.
This system has three main parts: the hypothalamus, the hippocampus, and the amygdala. Hypothalamus, the home of our survival instincts, regulates the autonomic nervous system and controll our responses and reactions to stress (i.e., the fight and flight response).
The hippocampus and amygdala have a key role in storing present experiences like long term data into the brain’s “hard drive,” the neocortex. The neocortex acts as the commandeer of our lives, with executive control (as long as it is working properly because of stress).
The amygdala, besides assisting in storage sensory information, especially emotionally charged, offers immediate warnings to know whether to prepare for difficult situation (emotionally and physically), send immediate messages of engagement for “fight or flight” or to continue forward without worry.
Bringing emotional trigger, trauma or problematic scene to mind, it activates the amygdala, arousing a threat response. Stimulating meridian acupoints, at the same time sends deactivating signals to the amygdala. Repetition of the tapping resolves these opposing signals by reducing the arousal while the trigger is still mentally active. The hippocampus learns that the memory is being safely engaged without a stress response, and the neural pathways are now permanently altered. Being able to encounter the memory without limbic arousal becomes the new normal.

What is NLP ?
Neuro Linguistic Programming known as NLP is the art of excellence, science about how difference makes the difference.
In general, we could tell that NLP is about how we can use language of our mind (taught, beliefs and mental strategies) to program ourselves to achieve success. It was developed in 1970s, by Richard Bandler and John Grinder who were modelling first world class therapist and then success people from the all other fields. They have been studying structure of their behaviour, beliefs and mental strategies. Repeating same elements of structure, they achieved similar success in these areas of life. At the end they formalized their modelling technology which main focus is structure, not content.
NLP can help with many different issues like:
- increase self-esteem
- raise happiness
- banish anxiety
- learn faster
- communicate better
- get out of bad habits
- reach peak performance
- improve financial discipline and get rid of debt
- empower yourself to achieve goals
How EFT and NLP can help with my trading ?
You will easier revaluate your life values, find what really motivates you, pushes you forward and will create your trading direction and vision. You will easier recognize your essential beliefs, find out if they useful and support your current trading strategy or not. Sometimes you accept beliefs from your parents, friends, colleagues which were useful in different context, but are not any more. You can change them much easier with this techniques. You will define your mental strategy, plan steps and learn tools which can help you in supporting and achieving your goals.
Is there any replacement for EFT ?
Sometimes, people could feel little bit uncomfortable with tapping. Instead of this, you can use modified form of EFT, which is called TAB methods (touch and breath).
Can I combine EFT with other systems ?
You can combine EFT with almost any technique in the world. It is very easy to use and can improve effectiveness and speed up whatever you doing.
Is EFT scientifically based ?
Yes it is. There are more and more research which are witnessing almost superiority of EFT in all complementary therapies. You can check here results of clinical research on effectiveness of EFT and NLP over some other methods.
